New entrance fees to Machu Picchu starting May 1st. The price of admission to Machu Picchu will increase for all national and international tourists. The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Teresa Mera Gómez, who specified that foreign visitors will have to pay an additional S/ 11 (152 + 11 = Total 163 soles), while national tourists will see an increase of S/ 5 (64 + 5= Total 69 soles). The new entrance fee applies to all circuits, but it is still pending whether the increase will also apply to Circuit 1A (Machu Picchu Mountain) and Circuit 3B (Huayna Picchu Mountain).
If your trip is planned for May or later, please be aware of this increase. One of the most important recommendations is to purchase your Machu Picchu entrance ticket in advance. Circuit 2, which allows you to visit the archaeological site, sells out quickly, so booking ahead is highly recommended.
